Announcement of "The Second International Women's University Presidents' Forum & Symposium to Commemorate 20th Anniversary of Fourth World Women Conference" hosted by China Women's University on Oct. 12-15, 2015
In 1995, the 4th World Women Conference was held in Beijing on the theme of "Action for Equality, Development and Peace". Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action were adopted in the Conference and have produced great influence in promoting the progress of gender equality and women's development around the world. Concepts alike are strengthened that Women's progress is human's progress and women progress is closely related to the world peace and development around the world.
This year, 2015, marks the 20th anniversary of the Conference. China Women's University is about to host " The Second International Women's University Presidents' Forum & Symposium to Commemorate 20th Anniversary of Fourth World Women Conference" on October 12-15, 2015. League of China Women's Universities and Colleges, domestic and oversea women's universities, Chinese non-government organizations, and women activist of influence will gather together to push forward gender equality and women's development in all-round way, exploring partnership opportunities and discussing future development strategies.

1995年联合国第四届世界妇女大会在北京召开，会议围绕“以行动促进平等、发展与和平”的主题，共商促进性别平等的全球战略，制定并通过了《北京宣言》和《行动纲领》，确定了提高妇女地位是各国和国际社会的共同目标。世界妇女事业的发展关系人类的文明进步，与世界和平和发展息息相关。加强国际合作，促进共同发展，是世界妇女事业发展的重要途径。
