CWU Leaders Visit Ushers, Volunteers at IAAF World Championships



A total of 158 studentsfrom China Women’s University (CWU) took part as 118 ushers and 40 volunteers in the 15th IAAF World Championships held in Beijing from August 22-30. To motivate the students and further inspire them to work harder, Li Mingshun, chairperson of CWU Council, accompanied by CWU Secretary of the Youth League Committee Zhang Ruizhi and other teachers in charge, paid them regular visits.

Li visited the VIP restaurant of the National Stadium on August 26 and expressed his sincere encouragement to the 20 volunteers on duty. Accompanied by Zhao Jinyan, Minister of the International Department of Beijing Municipal Youth League Committee, Li visited volunteers in all positions. In order to further learn about the volunteers’ activities, Li visited volunteers’ work and living environments, listened to the problems they encountered, and talked to them in depth.

Li fully affirmed that the volunteers’ were hard working and dedicated. He pointed out that volunteers not only represent CWU, but also China. Each volunteer is the representative of her country, they should keep in mind their own mission, hold fast to their own positions, and strive to show the positive image of Chinese youths.

Li expressed hope that the students would cherish their precious volunteer work, continue to carry forward the hardworking and dedicated spirit in their future lives, and leave no regrets.

Accompanied by Qian Song, Vice-Minister of the large events department, Social Sport Management Center of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports, as well as teachers from CWU's sports teaching department, Li paid a special visit to the 118 ushers in Shunyi training base. He spoke highly of their wonderful performance in the opening ceremony, and looked forward to their better performance in ongoing work. He said that CWU will provide them with the greatest support, concern and meticulous logistics.

The students expressed their heartfelt thanks for the instruction, support, and help they received from all the leaders. They said that they would live up to all the expectations, show athletes their most enthusiastic attitude, most brilliant smiles, and most professional service in the next few days. They are all hoping to become part of the most beautiful scenery at the championships.
